When you log into a website you will have a login username and the same password that you will use each time you log into that site. The longer you keep that password, the more likely it is to be compromised and hackers or intruders will be able to take it and get into your secure sites and access data and information that is private and valuable to you. Fortunately, there is a way to combat this. There is a method that is known as two factor authentication. This is where you use a different password or a one time password every time you log into a site or a network. This password will often be generated on a token such as a smartphone app that can then be used to log into the website.
This is a great thing because your password will now never be known to intruders or hackers because it changes each time you login. This is the whole point of two factor authentication. It allows you to login to a network securely and have an extra layer of protection so that no one will be able to access the secure data that you would rather keep private.
